Debris Monitoring

The GP Difference in Debris Monitoring

GP is a proven and trusted source for debris monitoring with a reliable team of professionals. These professionals enable the monitoring of clean-up efforts to allow for continuity in operations and logistics. When in the wake of a disaster, count on GP for your debris-monitoring efforts.

Monitoring debris removal and disposal contractor activities is critical to successful debris operations and to the justification and documentation of any application for FEMA Public Assistance funding.

Our Unique Approach to Debris Monitoring

GP can support your debris-monitoring operations using established processes and standards of operation gleaned from relevant past experience. GP can deploy trained debris monitors to observe and document contractor activities at all pick-up and disposal sites. Whenever hiring is necessary, GP hires individuals in the local community and provides them with new skills, offering a renewed hope in the wake of disaster. As a result, GP can assist in promoting economic growth locally during a time when local residents need it.

Our Experience in Debris Monitoring

GP has debris-removal monitoring experience with FEMA recovery processes. The GP Rapid Response Unit successfully oversaw debris removal activity in the aftermath of Hurricanes Charley, Francis, and Jeanne in Florida. GP's processes included quality assurance, effective communications, logistics, technology, and stringent finance and accounting practices.

GP has the ability to mobilize and adapt quickly to many different situations. For example, GP set a temporary staging point in an agricultural arena, which enabled a single point of access to management, essential tools, and other resources necessary to begin the activities that restored a safe environment for the community. The arena was also utilized for multidisciplinary training to a large number of employees on documentation, debris operations, FEMA guidelines, safety guidelines for responders, and training of support personnel. GP also formed Rapid Impact Assessment teams during this time. The teams were sent to the field to assimilate damage assessments to critical infrastructures and assess the heaviest areas of debris so that the necessary resources were distributed quickly and effectively. GP's quick thinking and effective mobilization of needed services and expertise can be put to use in your jurisdiction, too.
