Domestic Preparedness Technical Assistance Program (DPETAP)

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training

The GP Difference in PPE Training

Our instructors and technicians have extensive "suit time" and are attuned to the challenges of carrying out emergency response tasks while in PPE. Best practices and lessons learned are a key part of the instruction, as well as the practical exercise.

GP delivers a Department of Homeland Security (DHS)-approved course to help responders select, use, and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) for all-hazards use. If proper procedures are not observed, the PPE itself can become a hazard for both the individual wearing it and others in the environment, so GP delivers practical, hands-on training followed by comprehensive practical exercises to ensure safe use.

Our Unique Approach to PPE Training

Extensive practical exercises ensure that your team members have the knowledge and confidence to effectively select and use their PPE.

Our Experience in PPE Training

Our instructor/technicians are DHS-certified and have decades of experience as military, civilian, and commercial responders and emergency managers. We offer technical assistance training on almost any type of PPE available. Our instructors and technicians have experience with many PPE types and configurations as well as the new National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) ensemble specifications.

Availability

GP's Personal Protective Equipment courses are available to private organizations and through the Domestic Preparedness Technical Assistance Program (DPETAP) and DPETAP Supplemental Delivery Program (DSDP).
