Nuclear Power Plant Training

Generic Fundamentals Examination
(GFE) Courses

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) administers the Generic Fundamentals Examination (GFE) as part of its initial licensing process for US nuclear power plant operators. At GP, we have applied our 30+ years of experience serving the nuclear industry to develop training materials designed specifically to prepare license candidates for the NRC Generic Fundamentals Exam. These materials can help your reactor operators and senior reactor operators earn the licenses they need to comply with NRC regulations.

The NRC Generic Fundamentals Exam is currently offered three times a year, in February, June, and October. If you have been thinking about conducting a generic fundamentals exam prep class for your prospective licensed operators, you need to plan ahead. If your instructor resources are limited, you should consider GP's Turnkey Generic Fundamentals Exam Program. General Physics will supply all of the materials for the class, including quizzes, exams, and a final examination similar in scope and depth to the actual GFE.

Why GP?

GP's Generic Fundamentals Exam materials are now in use in over 50 nuclear power plants throughout the United States, making us the provider of GFE materials to 80% of US power plants. Additionally, we have conducted turnkey Generic Fundamentals Exam training at over 15 different plants in the past five years. Many of these plants are repeat customers for this service. We conducted four on-site turnkey presentations of the GFE materials for the February 2001 NRC Generic Fundamentals Exam, and recommended that 34 candidates sit the exam. Of these, 97% passed.
